'JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH'

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence/action, bloody images, some suggestive references, language and a drug reference.

What it’s about: Thirty-two years after the events of "Jurassic Park," a group of scientists and bounty hunters and a shipwrecked family arrive on the island to collect samples of the dinosaurs that roam free.

The kid attractor factor: The family adventure story and amazing dinosaurs will be of interest to older kids (not quite little ones).

Good lessons/bad lessons: People over profits. Health care should be universal and open to all.

Violence: Some terrifying and perilous situations with carnivorous dinos, shooting, guns, etc.

Language: Some swearing

Sex: None

Drugs: References to marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: OK for older kids and up.

'40 ACRES'

Rated R for strong bloody violent content and language.

What it’s about: A dystopion action-horror film about an isolated family fending off cannibals in the Canadian wilderness after a pandemic, war and famine.

The kid attractor factor: Not much appeal for kids in this gory action film.

Good lessons/bad lessons: We need each other to survive, isolationism might make you safe but it will not allow you to thrive.

Violence: Some extreme bloody violence — shooting, stabbing, etc.

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: A suggestive scene

Drugs: Some on-screen marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Too violent for younger audiences, OK for teens.
