Will and Grace alum Corey Parker battled advanced stage 4 metastatic cancer.
The actor - who died aged 60 on Thursday (05.03.26) - received the heartbreaking diagnosis after he underwent hip replacement surgery in 2025, and the bone was sent to pathology, according to a GoFundMe crowdfunder set up to raise money to support Corey's family before his death.
Throughout last year, Corey posted several devastating health updates on the page - organised by Marissa Hoisington in January 2025 as his family faced the "overwhelming cost of treatment without coverage" due to him becoming "ineligible for his SAG insurance".
One update shared on November 14 revealed that "90 per cent" of Corey's bones were "covered with the adenocarcinoma" - an aggressive cancer that starts in the glandular cells that line an individual's organs.
On January 10, 2026, Corey posted that the cancer was "wearing down my body to the point where I can no longer function properly", being left unable to "fully engage in speech" and losing the "ability to write and type".
And in a final health update, shared on February 18, the star described his cancer as "terminal".
Corey revealed that the radiation "intended to reduce the pain from the cancer in my arm and in my hips" decreased the pain in those areas, but it "also impacted my esophagus, my ability to speak and my overall orientation", which made it hard for him to "text and formulate speech".
The actor also revealed that he and his wife, Angela, had "started to prepare the house for the time when we will begin hospice care".
And Corey - who met Angela on a TV shoot for Destiny in 1995, and they married within months of meeting - thanked those who donated for allowing him to "rest a little easier" and making "such a huge difference" in his family's life.
The star - who was previously married to former actress-and-model Linda Kerridge, now 71, from 1989 until 1992, and had one child with her - wrote: "The generosity and care that everyone has shown me and my family has meant everything.
"All of the help with the medical bills from the time we first went to the hospital without insurance to keeping us able to pay the current health care costs now has been such a blessing.
"The current health insurance monthly premium is $1485, so the generous outpouring of love and support from everyone has allowed us to keep up our payments.
"The door dash and Uber Eats cards have helped keep food coming to the house while Angela still works and continues to care for me full time.
"I cannot thank you enough for all of the love and care. Your donations have made such a huge difference in our life and have allowed me to rest a little easier knowing that our needs are being met even while I can no longer have income."
Corey - born to late actress Rochelle "Rocky" Parker, who died in 2014, and her second husband, John Haas, in New York on July 8, 1965 - began his acting career aged four, appearing in TV commercials.
After his studies at the High School of Performing Arts in New York, the star landed his first major film role as Pete in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, in 1985.
In the 1990s, Corey starred opposite Tea Leoni, 60, in the Fox sitcom, Flying Blind, and appeared in five episodes of the NBC comedy Will and Grace, in which he played Josh, one of Grace's (Debra Messing's) boyfriends.
But in 2000, he became an acting coach, and according to the GoFundMe page, some of his students have won "Tony Awards, SAG Awards, and Emmy Awards".
On Saturday (07.03.26), Corey's aunt Emily Parker told TMZ that he died on Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee.
Later on Saturday, his 54-year-old sister, actress Noelle Parker, took to Instagram and penned an emotional tribute.
She captioned a photo of her and Corey as children with: "You take my hand, I'll take your hand. My brother: #coreyparker - July 8, 1965 - March 5, 2026 - I believe he left this world weightless, at peace + surrounded with love - via con dios, big brother. (sic)"
Corey also had a 66-year-old brother called David Parker.
