Christie Brinkley: My 70s have been amazing

Christie Brinkley's 70s "have been amazing".
The 72-year-old model insists that she's been loving life since celebrating her 70th birthday in February 2024.
The runway star told People: "I have to say the 70s have been amazing.
"When I actually say the number, it seems very foreign to me because I don't know, I don't feel like that, and I want to let other women know not to fear [aging] because it's not what you think. I'm having a great time."
Christie also explained that she's become increasingly picky about her work choices as time has elapsed.
She said: "I think that it should be fun, and I think you should enjoy each job. I'm sort of finicky and choosy about what I do, and having a great time is a whole part of it."
Christie balances her modelling work with animal rights activism, and she feels particularly passionate about the issue.
She said: "They represent everything that we love about America. Freedom, untamed, just able to travel at will and go where you want to go.
"They've laboured for us and we've enjoyed them and it's time for us to stand up for them now. This is their land."
Before turning 70, Christie observed that her age "doesn't match [her] spirit".
The model insisted in 2023 that she wasn't worried about ageing, revealing that she was feeling "good" and "strong".
Christie told People at the time: "I pretty much feel, as I'm approaching 70, the same way that I felt when I was approaching 30. I feel good. I feel strong.
"I feel like the number doesn't match my spirit, so I may as well just keep spiriting on."
Christie is determined to have fun with her friends and family in the coming years, describing laughter as a cure for "everything".
She said: "I don't believe that focusing on age is going to make you feel any better about it. I think curiosity in the world around you and just wanting to do something with each day, that is what keeps you young and going.
"I just love any time I have any family and friends around, just being able to sit and laugh - I think laughter heals everything."
