System of a Down announces Rose Bowl show with Pierce the Veil in 2027

ANAHEIM, Calif. — System of a Down is heading to the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena for the first time, with the Los Angeles rock band announcing a concert on Saturday, June 5, 2027, alongside San Diego post-hardcore group Pierce the Veil.
The performance will be System of a Down’s only North American show of 2027, with the band scheduled to spend the first part of the year playing stadiums in Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. The announcement follows a European and U.K. stadium tour that included sold-out performances in Paris, London and Warsaw, Poland.
Fans can register for System of a Down’s artist presale through Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 9 p.m. The presale begins at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, with no code required for registered fans at signup.livenation.com/systemofadown. General ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct 26 at Ticketmaster.com.
The Pasadena date also comes as the band marks 25 years since the release of its sophomore album, “Toxicity,” which arrived in September 2001 and became a turning point in its career. Featuring songs such as “Chop Suey!,” “Aerials” and the title track, the album helped bring the band’s politically charged lyrics and unconventional blend of metal, punk and Armenian musical influences to a wider audience.
The anniversary recently brought the group back into the spotlight in Los Angeles, where Beyond the Streets hosted an exhibition featuring memorabilia and archival material from the “Toxicity” era.
Formed in Los Angeles in the 1990s, System of a Down features vocalist Serj Tankian, guitarist and vocalist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian and drummer John Dolmayan. Although the band has not released a full-length studio album since 2005, its members have continued performing together at select concerts and festivals.
Pierce the Veil, which formed in San Diego in 2006, will join the band for the Pasadena performance. The group has been touring behind its I Can’t Hear You Tour, which included multiple sold-out performances at the Kia Forum in Inglewood.
