Scott Waugh was "blown away" by Sylvester Stallone when he worked with the Hollywood star.

The 56-year-old filmmaker has worked with a host of big-name stars during his career, including Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jean-Claude Van Damme - but he admits that Stallone made a particularly strong impression when they worked together.

Scott - a former stunt performer who directed Stallone in 2023's Expend4bles - told People: "Man, I've been so blessed to have worked with a lot of the greats. I mean, all the top five that, at the time, we had -- Bruce Willis, Arnold, Sly, Van Damme. That was the era of the 80s and the 90s. And I worked with all of them, but as a director, directing Sly to me was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The guy is such an iconic force in action filmmaking and a prolific filmmaker in his own right.

"So to be able to finally be on the other side of the camera with Sly, because I worked with him on a movie called The Specialist, and I had to do a fight against him. He, of course, kicks my butt, and throws me out the window and all kinds of craziness.

"And that was, I don't even know what year that was. It was so long ago, but I was so blown away. He's so physically capable. He was 77, I think, when I directed him in Expendables, and I was always still impressed by what he was still capable of."

Scott also has fond memories of working with Jackie Chan on 2023's Hidden Strike.

The director hailed Jackie, 72, as a "legend" of the movie business.

Scott shared: "When I was on Hidden Strike with him, and there was this gag that he had to do repelling from a helicopter to the top of the bus and he had to, what we call a kit, flip upside down, and spin through the back window and land inside. And that's a really physical, strong move, even to do it 20 years old.

"And so, Jackie was determined that he needed to do it. And I wanted to put the camera, and completely feature that it's him, not the stunt double. He does it. He's on take 10, he can't get it. He's on take 12, he can't get it. And I'm thinking, 'Man, Jackie, just let your stunt double do it.' And he's like, 'No, I can do this.'"
