ANAHEIM, Calif. — After a two-year hiatus, Coastal Country Jam is heading back to where it all began, bringing Luke Bryan, Megan Moroney, Thomas Rhett and Parker McCollum to the sand in Huntington Beach on May 22-23, 2027.
The two-day country music festival, produced by Activated Events, will return to Huntington Beach for the first time since 2019, this time taking over a new stretch of coastline just south of the Huntington Beach Pier. Bryan will headline Saturday alongside Rhett, while Moroney will close out Sunday with McCollum.
Single-day and two-day passes will be available. Fans can register for presale access at coastalcountryjam.com. Presale begins Thursday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m., followed by the general public sale Friday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m.
“I think we’re also just really excited that after a two-year hiatus, we’re bringing Coastal Country Jam back, and then on top of that, we’re bringing it back on the sand in Huntington Beach where it all began.” Steve Thacher, founder and CEO of Activated Events, shared in a phone interview. “So I think the excitement level is really through the roof based on a lot of different factors.”
Coastal Country Jam first launched in 2016 on Huntington State Beach near Brookhurst Street and Pacific Coast Highway and held four editions there through 2019 before the pandemic interrupted its run. The festival later moved to Long Beach for events in 2023 and 2024.
Thacher said the team spent considerable time working with the city of Huntington Beach to coordinate the new location, festival dates and surrounding hotel accommodations. Unlike its original home on the state beach, the 2027 edition will take place on the city beach, across from Pacific City.
“We’ve been working with the city of Huntington Beach for quite a while to identify the right location, the right weekend, coordinate with hotels, like all the different elements that go into producing these things,” he said. “And then once Luke and Megan were both available on that weekend, we just said, let’s go for it.”
The lineup also marks the first appearances by Bryan and Moroney at an Activated Events festival.
“I think Luke is just the perfect artist for a great beach party in Huntington Beach, and I think Megan is just, you know, she’s on fire right now,” Thacher said. “She’s one of the hottest country artists out there. I think women are having a real moment in country music, and we’re really proud to have her at the top of the bill.”
Saturday’s lineup also includes Josh Ross, Ashley Cooke, Myles Morgan and Joe Peters. Sunday’s performers include Avery Anna, Corey Kent, John Morgan, Colin Lynch and Presley Tennant.
More than 20 artists are expected to perform across multiple stages throughout the weekend, including local Orange County country musicians. Thacher also confirmed that another major artist will be announced in early December.
Beyond the music, the festival will feature barbecue demonstrations from Smoke Show pitmasters, the Belt Buckle Line Dancing Hall, mechanical bull riding, a cornhole tournament and several themed bars, including Rosé Rodeo and the nonalcoholic On the Wagon mocktail bar.
For Thacher, though, the biggest attraction remains the setting itself.
“The music and the setting right on the sand, Huntington Beach, the Pacific Ocean in the backdrop, Catalina Island, the sunset,” he said. “It’s pretty magical in and of itself.”
