Padres walk off a win over Rangers after Xander Bogaerts' exit
Published in Baseball
SAN DIEGO — The Padres walked off 3-2 win in 10 innings on Friday evening over the Texas Rangers to begin the final homestand before the All-Star break.
Time will tell if if they’ve lost their shortstop for a stretch.
Xander Bogaerts grabbed at his right hamstring after swinging at the first pitch he saw with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, leading to his exit.
Two batters later, Jake Cronenworth stroked a game-winning single right to allow a sellout crowd of 45,114 to at least celebrate a win after a potential loss.
Bogaerts exited a game in Cincinnati on June 29 due to cramping but he did not miss any additional time.
